Creative Arts Therapy Certificate Program

Now in its seventh season, The Creative Arts Therapy Certificate Program is open to licensed mental and medical health professionals, educators, and students on a path to higher education in a mental health profession. Absolutely no prior art experience is necessary!

Program Details

WHAT You Will Learn:

- To Utilize the Creative Arts in working with individuals, in groups, in teaching, and in social change initiatives. - To Facilitate and Apply the use of visual arts, creative writing, movement, music, photography, dramatic arts, and Sandplay Therapy, to foster healing and positive change.

WHEN the program takes place:

09/07/19, 10/19/19, 11/16/19, 12/14/19, 01/18/20, 02/15/20, 03/21/19, (make up session 04/18/20), 05/16/20, 06/13/20, (make up session 07/18/20), 08/08/20. "Make-up" sessions are built into the program. 9:00 am - 4:00 pm  (12:00 pm-1:00 pm lunch break)

Program participants must complete 60 hours between 09/07/19 and 08/08/20 only, to receive CUs for the training.

COST:

$1,200 Includes All CEU credit & Certificate (from UAlbany School of Social Welfare)

 (Payment can be made in 2 installments: one to hold your space and the second is due on the first day of the program).

FACILITATOR:

Lucy Barbera, PhD, LCAT-  is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist. She has been conducting training seminars in Creative Art Therapy nationally for the last twenty-five years and has a private practice in Creative Arts Therapy.  Dr. Barbera developed and has been teaching Expressive Arts in Education and Expressive Arts for Social Justice Education at SUNY, New Paltz for the last 20 years.

Training in the Creative Arts Therapy Certificate program provides participants with the ability to integrate and apply arts modalities and creative activities within the context of their practice with diverse populations.
